Getting Men To Know God After Bringing Them To Him

Not all pastors are rogues, as the rogues themselves would want many to belief. God promised in Jeremiah that He will set pastors over His people, whose core competence is to teach them knowledge and understanding. 

It is not enough to bring men to God, the next thing is bring them to know God. For it is the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits Daniel...

Teaching men and bringing them into the knowledge of God their is the finishing touch of evangelism. One Proffessor Ilesanmi posited in Jimeta - Yola and I agreed with. You don't just send them back to field to bring "more souls" but you painstakingly follow them up, teach and ground them in the knowledge of God and His word.

Thereby getting them eastablished in the way of God.

Jesus The Master Soul Winner Himself followed this pattern with absolute dexterity. He did not call Peter and Andrew his brother today and sent them to the field the following day! He first call them that "they might be with Him" And while theythey were with Him, what He doing with them? Teaching them and teaching both public and in private. All over the pages of Gospels from Matthew to John, you will find repeated over and over again "and He began to teach them many things"

This is actually the nitty gritty of discipleship. As being portrayed by some zealots, discipleship does not mean that converts will be taken to martial arts academy where they will be made to undergo all manner of rigorous exercises. It simply mean they will be taught and grounded in the knowledge of God and the way of God.

The worst of the rigours could be that they will be taught while standing up or sitting down. And on many occassions it is while sitting down. No gymnastics no acrobatics!

We have been taught to "seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness..." yet the truth still remains you can do it better by seeking The King of The Kingdom along with it. It is the owner of a property or premises that can show you round better than an any other. Because he knows the nooks, corners and crannies of his premises better than any other person. 

Same goes for God and His kingdom. Seek along as you seek His Kingdom first, so He can show you round better than any other. That is why men that are brought to Him need to be taught first on knowing Him. Reason He set pastors after His own heart over them to teach them His knowledge and understanding. 

Yes it good to bring men God, another thing is getting men to know Him so they walk with Him and walk in His ways.

He himself said "take My yoke upon you and LEARN of Me"

Finally, if you have gone this far with reading this but you are yet to come to God, time to come to Him now. But no one can do that in the ambit of mere religion. Sin repulses God, and you need need to repent from your sins and believe on His Son Jesus Christ Who only can save from them and bring you justified unto Him. Then can you move on to the next step, which is to start knowing God.
